Palm Springs House 

Individual Project 

Project Description:

Oliver is seven years old and has a mild case of cerebral palsy and uses leg braces and crutches. They would like to make this their forever home and are thinking ahead so universal design will help them age in place. They would like their home to reflect the Palm Springs history of the Eichler home style and midcentury modern. Ike is 40 years old and owns a local automotive repair shop and runs the day to day. Suzie is 38 and has a degree in Special Education and homeschools Oliver. Suzie also tutors other kids when she has the time. Ike and Suzie met when she had to take her car in to get fixed after she bumped into a light post while backing up. 

Concept Statement:

A mid century modern, simplistic, space for easy mobility with an emphasis on linear lines and natural light.
